I’m really excited to travel up to Minneapolis for WordCamp Minneapolis. I’m doubling down on WordPress and hope to attend a WordCamp every two months. I have family and friends in the area, and I hope to make it to WordCamp Minneapolis every year.
Most WordCamps I attend are local to where I live on the east coast. This is the first time I’ve traveled far for business, and the learning lessons have been painful so far.
First, when I travel locally I bring everything with me in a huge 25 lb bag. This is very helpful when traveling to DC, as I take two laptops, my DSLR, a tripod, extra batteries, extension cords, and much more. Apparently, I don’t actually need these things when traveling further. Very interested at buying a new MacBook, which can be powered by external batteries. My carry along stuff should be able to be under 5 lbs, if I do it right.
Make tighter travel plans. Having to rent a car at the last minute is not the best idea.
Could have used instructions for parking, but was able to find plenty of parking with no problem
Coloring books are an amazing idea.
Website should have venue on event pages.
John Eckman’s keynote was a great way to start the day.

Good effort for enthusiasm for early morning talk.
